Quest for coffee

Quest for coffee

Autumn has definitely fallen here on the north Atlantic, bringing rain and wind and cooler temperatures. I decided to brave the grey skies and on/off rain to trek across the city to pick up some coffee beans. I brought my camera along for the walk as I haven’t been shooting much lately and need to finish a test roll I’m in the middle of.

I cut across the Common to get over to Robie Street and found some of the path covered in colourful leaves. Makes for a nice shot with the iPhone. As expected the Common was almost completely lifeless, just a couple of people walking their pooches and a small flock of seagulls taking shelter from the wind.

I managed to make it up to the north end and one of Halifax’s coffee institutions, Java Blend. They have fair trade Tanzanian Kilimanjaro Peaberry beans for a very reasonable $12 per pound. Just a small and tasty reminder of my trip there earlier this year. With a large Colombian drip for the road I headed back and managed to run into a friend on the street. Another reason to love living in the city.
