Curved road, Wolfville dykelands

Most days, a trip to Wolfville means dropping by the farmer’s market or strolling up and down a few streets checking out the shops and pubs. While that’s all fine and good, there are other things to do there. Instead of your feet, I recommend a day spent on a bike. There are lots of back lanes and farm roads to explore. An interesting day can be spent biking the dykelands.

The Wolfville dykelands were constructed in the 17th century by the Acadians who farmed the area. The dykes still keep the Bay of Fundy at, um, bay, and provide for a great trail to hike/bike along. You can go all the way from the Port Williams to Grand Pré, and even further if you’re adeventurous. There are a lot of photo opportunities, and unique views you can’t get from sticking to town.

Next time you’re taking a trip to Wolfville, bring your bike!
