Economy Falls is what greets you at the end of the very nice Devil’s Bend hiking trail. I recommend it if you’re looking for a mid-length, moderately challenging trail. Most people just drive to the top of the falls and take the stairs down into the valley, but that’s no fun. Unfortunately because of the ease of access, a lot of yahoos like to visit.
Depending on your comfort, you can climb most or all the way to the top of the falls. I only went up halfway as I was carrying my large camera pack and tripod, so not particularly suited to scrambling over wet rock. It’s worth it though as you get a great up-close view of the falls. It doesn’t take a terribly slow shutter — this was about one second — to smooth things out when the water’s rushing so fast.
