Incapable of taking my own photos lately I might as well add to my photobook collection with a beautiful new retrospective and try to get inspired. This new book — Judith Joy Ross: Photographs 1978–2015 — is a collection of simple but powerful portraits taken with a large-format camera.
I enjoy slowly flipping through photography books to, especially of portraits, to try to get inside the minds of both photographer and subject. There are always fascinating stories to explore.
