Why yes, those are my boots in the oven. At a toasty 145F to be exact.
This is what you get for being a sidewalk commuter in Halifax. 5cm of water on the sidewalks and 15cm more where the sidewalks meet the road. Call it crappy municipal maintenance, call it a complete lack of empathy for pedestrians — the roads were all fine of course — whatever it is, my feet were soaking wet halfway through my commute.
Also, “waterproof” boots are rarely so.
