Sid Kaplan, Vanishing New York

I have a soft spot for street photography, I find it more inspiring than other forms of photography. There’s just something more alive about it, it’s probably the “in the moment” process. I wish every day I was half-decent at it.

Sid Kaplan has been a well-known and highly regarded printer for years producing work for some incredible photographers. He’s less talented promoting his own very good photographs of New York City and the constant changes it experiences. Luckily, he’s getting his own show in the city at 25CPW Gallery. I would love to see this show, not only for the high-quality prints, but the inspiring images themselves. Just seeing them online has sparked something in me, I can only imagine how excited I’d be seeing them in person.

You can find more of his story and photography at the NY Times Lens Blog.
