Trees in fog, Citadel hill

Another cool spring in Halifax means fog in the afternoon. On my walk from the office to get my hair cut, I walked around Citadel hill which is normally a good spot for some photographs no matter what the weather. As usual I had my camera with me so the trees set against the foggy hill and sky was an easy shot.

It’s too bad there’s so much grain in the scan. When printed the tones will be smooth and beautiful, but I haven’t found a scanner that deals at all well with black and white film. Well, one I can afford anyway. It’s like the scanner adds big, chunky grain where there really isn’t any. Kind of drive me crazy. Anyway, it just moves me to make a proper print of it. It seems I can make a better print with four dollars of paper and chemistry than I can with a seven hundred dollar scanner.
