Dunes, Cavendish Beach

Dunes, Cavendish Beach

After our visit to Green Gables, my Mom and I decided to take a walk along the famous sand dunes that run along the coast a little north of Cavendish. The dunes are part of Prince Edward Island National Park, a gorgeous area of the island. It was a windy day when we were there, the wind very strong off the water but that didn’t deter us from taking a stroll as far as we could go.

Because it was so windy and the waves were high, there was a guy parasurfing or something. He seemed to be under water more than on top of it, but he sure had lots of energy to beat the wind and the waves. He attracted a few onlookers, those that were brave enough to get down to the beach. Most people just stayed up on the boardwalk and watched from there. The wind was pretty wild and I’m sure most of the visitors had never felt that before.

The coast is a neverending and always changing subject for a photographer. No matter where you go, whether it’s sandy or rocky, there’s always something beautiful to photograph.
