Trophy Meadows, Wells Gray Park (Six)

Trophy Meadows, Wells Gray Park (Six)

When I visited Wells Gray Park, it rained like I had never seen. It came down for five minutes every fifteen minutes. It was looking like a miserable weekend to spend in a tent. On one rainy evening, the park biologist gave a presentation on the park and it flora and fauna. I was looking for somewhere to go for a hike the next day so I asked him for a suggestion. He said try Trophy Meadows, the famous wildflowers might be in bloom, but he didn’t know for sure. I decided to take a chance he knew what he was talking about and hike up there. All I could say when I arrived up there was wow.

It was like a paint shop had exploded. I had never seen anything like it. I went through every roll of film I had left, both black and white and colour. I just couldn’t take enough photos, everywhere I looked it was something amazing. It didn’t rain a single drop the whole day, which made it one of the nicest, most rewarding hikes I’ve been on.
