Here’s another photo full of the colour and texture of the island. I love the worn pattern on the post and the different types and colours of rope tied together. The flatness of the light, due to the thick clouds, also adds to the shot. You can feel the ocean in it. I think a lot of colour photography these days still tries to burn the viewers’ eyes out with deep vibrant colour, as if it’s trying too hard to get the message across. A photo doesn’t need to be seen from space to be successful in conveying a deeper sense of its subject.
