I walk by this creepy little alley twice a day on my walk to/from work. One morning in the spring, the light was just right to give it a nice look and there weren’t any car or construction trucks in it as there seems to be every day now that they’re fixing the stone.
I like this little alley because even though it’s surrounded by busy streets (Barrington Street was to my back as I took the shot) it seems to be a quiet, serene spot. I guess it helps that it’s locked behind gates most of the time so the riff-raff doesn’t get in there. But sticking your head between the bars of the gate sort of makes you feel like you’re in an old European city. Then the eight Metro Transit buses all go by at the same time (don’t get me started on that), and you’re back in Halifax.
