Anyone who frequents this place knows how much I like bridges in the woods and boardwalks. Man-made structures surrounded by nature fascinate me. I can’t get enough of how nature takes these structures as an affront and goes to work welcoming them back to a natural state.
The trail to Wards Falls is riddled with little bridges, so this is a great short hike for me. This year I went a little earlier than usual and came upon this bridge that had fallen down in the middle. Just nine months earlier it looked like this. One step closer to being reclaimed by the forest.
