I decided to wave goodbye to the most craptastic of years with a hike on a crisp, sunny, winter’s day.
Not only was it the last hike of the year it was only the second, a good measure of how awful 2020 has been for all sorts of things. Crappy for getting outside, happy for seeing friends and family, crappy for work/life balance, crappy for mental health.
At this point I’m happy and thankful to have made it this far, to have survived an awful year, to have the opportunity to tie up my boots, go for a walk in the woods, and breathe in the fresh, cold, air. Far too many people lost that opportunity.
The views were much better than the last time I hiked this loop!
